Often referred to as a braided crib bumper or bed braid for baby, braids are decorative elements for the baby's room. It is not recommended to use bed braids as a crib bumper for baby. As part of the prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, doctors, childcare experts, and pediatricians advise against using a bed braid as a crib bumper.
The braid is a decorative element. You can place it at the foot of the bed for decoration before baby's birth, or on a piece of furniture in the room for a modern touch, matching the baby's outfit colors for example. The decorative braid can help support baby on their play mat, or be used in the playpen, under parental supervision. Once baby has grown, the decorative braid can be rolled up and used as a cushion while you tell the bedtime story.
