How to choose the right baby sleeping bag
The essential sleep sack from 0 to 24 months
From birth until 24 months, the sleeping bag ensures your baby sleeps warm and safely. Like a sleeping bag with added straps, the sleep sack prevents your baby from becoming uncovered during the night while allowing freedom of movement. Moreover, by replacing the use of a blanket or duvet and keeping the child's face and airways clear, it reduces the risks of suffocation and sudden infant death syndrome. By choosing a model suitable for your baby's age as well as the season and room temperature where your child will sleep, you can put them to bed without worry, ensuring optimal sleep quality. At Trois Kilos Sept, we offer sleeping bags specially adapted for premature babies and newborn sleep sacks measuring between 55 and 65 cm long. From 6 months, we offer sleeping bags measuring 90 cm long that can be used up to 24 months. We also offer some adaptable sleep sacks from 6 to 36 months, measuring up to 110 cm long.
A sleeping bag adapted to room temperature, with TOG rating
For winter, we offer sleeping bags in flannel or velvet, some of our winter sleep sacks even have long sleeves. For mid-season, we recommend sleeveless sleeping bags in 100% cotton, with slightly lighter padding than a winter sleep sack. And finally, for the summer season, you'll be spoiled for choice between our ultra-light and absorbent terry cloth summer sleeping bags and our cotton muslin models, gentle on baby's delicate skin, soft and breathable. Similarly, you should choose your sleeping bag based on the room where your baby will sleep. For this, you can use the TOG rating that appears on most of our sleeping bag models. After checking the temperature of the room where your child sleeps (we recommend taking several readings throughout the day to account for possible temperature variations in the same room between day and night, thus obtaining a range closest to what your child actually feels). See our article to learn everything about the TOG rating of sleeping bags.
To create a cozy nest for your little one, nothing better than a baby cot bumper to define their sleeping space, while adding an extra touch of comfort. In addition to its decorative aspect, it protects baby from drafts or creates a warm cocoon depending on the model you choose.
