Often referred to as a braided bed bumper or bed braid for babies, braids are decorative elements for the baby's room. It is not recommended to use bed braids as a baby bed bumper. As part of the prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, doctors, childcare experts, and pediatricians advise against using a bed braid as a baby bed bumper.
The braid is a decorative element. You can place it at the foot of the bed for decoration before the baby is born, or on a piece of furniture in the room for a modern touch, matching the colors of the baby's outfit for example. The decorative braid can help prop up the baby on their playmat, or be used in the playpen, under parental supervision. Once the baby has grown, the decorative braid can be used rolled up as a cushion while you tell the bedtime story.
